Dr Isabelle von Rohr

Dr Isabelle (Izzy) Rudolf von Rohr is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.

Izzy’s clinical experience includes working with children, teenagers and adults across various NHS primary, secondary and specialist care services. Izzy works with various difficulties such as stress, low mood, low self-esteem, anxiety, anger management, major trauma, interpersonal difficulties and emotional dysregulation.

Izzy’s approach is client-centred and she has a particular interest in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), which have a strong evidence base with a range of difficulties, while tailoring her approach to each individual’s needs.

In therapy, Izzy works jointly with clients to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties, aiming to create a plan on how to alleviate distress and overcome any barriers to a more fulfilling life. Izzy believes a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is essential when working psychotherapeutically. Izzy endeavours to provide a nurturing space where individuals can safely explore their vulnerabilities and struggles.

Izzy is originally from Switzerland and has been living in the UK for over ten years. Recently, she relocated to Mexico for two years (on an expatriate assignment) before moving back to Oxford in 2020. Izzy offers therapy both in English and German. The felt experience of relocating countries have enhanced Izzy’s understanding of mental health and the impact of cultural values on one’s wellbeing.

Thank you so very much for all the help and support to managing my emotions. You have shown me some amazing tools for my future. Really appreciate it!
Thank you for your help and all you have taught me about myself.
I am so grateful to Izzy. She helped me at a time when I felt the most vulnerable, with incredible kindness and understanding. She made it easier to talk about uncomfortable things and really helped me work out how to be kinder to myself.
Thank you! You have made me a new person. Thank you!
